Advertising online can be a challenge.
Figuring out what makes people tick, discovering what captures people’s attention, and tracking the sales are things professional marketers do on a consistent basis.
I first learnt this from Jon Olson. He mentions the “A.C.A.’s” of capture page design, which can be highly effective in this business.
1. Attention – grab their attention.
2. Curiosity – create curiosity.
3. Action – then follow up with a strong call to action.
This is so important because you literally have about 20-30 seconds to make an impact on the viewer. People will decide within seconds if they’re going to take action right there on the spot.
The biggest nugget I can give you is to keep things SIMPLE!
I see too many pages have complicated layouts, no flow to the design, way too much text, or the headline just sucks!
Keep it simple!
This is a page from Lurn.com (Anik Singal, CEO of Lurn, Inc) that properly gets results because it follows the A.C.A. formula and keeps things… SIMPLE!
Test out what works for you, and remember… You have a few seconds to make a lasting impression. Make your ads POP! Simple works in this business because the less complicated, the more people will perform the action you want them to take.
