Everyday I am using social media and I see people posting all different kinds of things from funny viral videos, business opportunities, family photos, etc.
And I like to be observant as to what people are posting and how people are reacting to posts. I look for how many “likes” a post gets? How many “comments” a post gets? And how many “shares” a post gets?
If I don’t see any of them then it’s usually a clear sign that a post on social media isn’t engaging enough.
So, here’s two things to increase engagement in a big way if you do it for 30 days straight.
Be More Interactive
It goes without saying, and surprisingly some people forget that it’s called social media for a reason.
If you want more social media engagement, be liking, commenting, and sharing other people’s posts.
Imagine going to a party and you talk to nobody and all of a sudden you start talking to everybody. Kind of weird, right?
It’s the same thing on social media.
If you’re not making any effort at all to comment, like, and share other people’s posts, do you think other people will do the same for you?
No, they won’t.
So if you’re not doing this, it’s time to start now.
Compliments Are Powerful
Here is some truth… People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
We are all emotional beings and emotions are powerful. When you can invoke an emotion in someone, they can remember you for years after.
A simple “You’re Awesome!” or “Epic!” can go a long way. But, let me be clear. I am not suggesting that you be fake.
No, not at all. That is not cool.
I am simply stating that when you generally give a compliment to someone, people take notice.

By simply interacting more often and complimenting more, this can really improve your engagement for your own social media posts. I challenge you to do this for 30 days straight and see what your results are like after the 30 days.
